International Coverage: The Look

Today marks the launch of a new feature on my blog! This is just another way for me to feed my cover addiction, and I am excited to get it off of the ground.

International Coverage is new a feature here at Forever Literary that spotlights and compares book covers from around the world. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may have noticed that I have a bit of an obsession with covers, and this is another thing that allows me to talk about them.

Left: UK, Right: America

When Ted is spotted by a model agency, she can’t believe it. At the same time her gorgeous sister, Ava, is diagnosed with cancer. With her world turned upside down, Ted has a lot of growing up to do, some of it in five-inch platforms. Can she be a supermodel and a super sister? Or will she have to choose between fame and family?
I picked The Look for my first-ever International Coverage post because of the contrast between the two images. The original UK one is much pinker and prettier, and, honestly,  I would probably be more attracted to it if I just saw it sitting on a shelf. However, the American cover is so much more striking and intense, which I think reflects the synopsis a little bit better. I absolutely adore both of these covers for different reasons; I could never decide which one I prefer, so I will have to leave it up to you to decide for me. To which one are you more partial?

  1. The UK one definitely! It's so vibrant and just gives out a modelly vibe. And the pink, of course! The edges of the pages are pink too :)

    The book itself is AWESOME!

  2. While my eyes went to the left, the UK one, first, I like the US one better. It shows off what the synopsis is about and is really different. Part model and part cancer. Two sisters in one. I like it :)

I now want to read the book!

Thank you so much for leaving a comment! I love to hear your thoughts, and I read every one. You just became one of my favorite people, so I will try to visit your blog in return.
