Top Ten Books on my Fall TBR

Hosted by the team over at The Broke and the Bookish, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme for list-loving bloggers. Every Tuesday, participants compile a list of their favorite books, authors, or other literature-related things that fall under a certain category.

With temperatures dropping and a two-week-long fall break just around the corner, I am beyond ready to launch into my autumn reading list. As always, since I am such a believer in seasonal reads, it is full of creepy premises and atmospheric writing—along with a few other kinds of books tossed in for variety.

This eerie-sounding book has been in my TBR for ages. What with the upcoming release of its final companion novel, I decided this Halloween season was the perfect time to pick it up.

I read this author's debut, Another Little Piece, last October and found it terrifying and seasonally appropriate. Hopefully her next horror novel will impress me just as much.

This series conclusion is bound to be as creepy as its two predecessors.

After reading this author's Strands of Bronze and Gold, I can vouch for her ability to craft a rich atmosphere and chilling mood, creating a book perfect for the fall season.

It is going to be difficult to say goodbye to this wonderfully witchy trilogy, but I cannot wait to find out how it ends.

This author never fails to write a story that showcases her ability to manipulate a character's consciousness into an addictive psychological thriller.

I was dismayed to hear about this series's extension and will not be reading the two tack-on novels, but something about Cass's world-building has me hooked. I am as excited to find out how this series ends as I am excited to be done with it.

This is another series conclusion I have been anticipating for a while.

I adore this book's premise, so I am hoping I will love the story just as much.

Downtown Abbey is not returning until after fall, so I am counting on this book to tide me over.

What books are you planning on reading this fall? Are you a seasonal reader like I am?

  1. I've been meaning to pick up The Madman's Daughter as well! What an appropriate holiday read for Halloween. I'm super excited about Quinn's book--the premise just sucks me right in. Fabulous TBR and good luck!

  2. The One is so so so good. I can't wait for the next novel in that series to come out.

I really want to read the Burn for Burn series. I've got all of them in my cart on Amazon at the moment, but I just don't have the money for them. Ugh.

    Here's my Top Ten Tuesday.

  3. OIt's funny that you put Madman on your list because I ALMOST put Her Dark Curiosity! I'm pretty sure I'm finally going to get to it in October! Ohhh, I still need to read Mirk and Midnight Hour as well! And...I need to re-read The Selection and first read The Elite and The One, so you're ahead of me. I'm flirting with what to do now that they've extended the series (What??), buuut I do own the first three! I haven't heard of The Latte Rebellion, but it has Latte in the title, so I'm going to look it up now because COFFEE!

  7. I haven't read any of the books on your list, and I have a feeling that a lot of them would be too scary for me to read, but I want to try the Jessica Spotswood books! And knowing now that you like them makes me want to try them more now! :)

And have fun reading all these books! :)

  12. Hey Emily. Great Fall list! I can definitely vouch for The Mirk and Midnight Hour. It's atmospheric and the heroine is like the heroine in Strands of Bronze and Gold (sweet/whimsical).

I'm reading The One this Fall, too. I don't know what those series extensions are all about...I guess, depending on how much I like/or love to dislike The One, I'll try out the rest of the series. Great list :)
